Arti Ajit Hirani is set to embark on a whirlwind year, as she will be sworn in as president-elect of The Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers division next week at the Annual Florida Bar Convention while simultaneously steering the course as president of the Orange County Bar Association.
Hirani is the youngest and first president of Indian descent to serve the OCBA since its establishment in 1933.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to step into the role of president of the Orange County Bar Association, one of the largest bars in the voluntary bar world, and one of the only two bars nationwide with a mandatory pro bono legal aid requirement,” said Hirani, a shareholder at Meenakshi A. Hirani, P.A. “We have the ability to support legal professionals and the general public by providing resources to our members and the community.”
Hirani has been a member of the OCBA since 2013, and has served as a trustee of the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association, Inc., and as a member of the foundation of the Orange County Bar Association, Inc., Hirani will maintain her seat on the board of the OCBA Young Lawyers Section.
Hirani practices in the areas of probate, guardianship, estate planning, international and domestic tax sheltering. Hirani is licensed to practice in both Florida and New York. She earned an B.S. in marketing from the University of Florida, a J.D. from the Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in Orlando, an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in Chicago, and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida. Hirani has also held the position of president of the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
Hirani is a member of the Bar’s Elder Law, International Law, Real Property, Probate & Trust Law, Solo & Small Firm, and Tax sections.
